Why Nothing Will Stop This Woman from Protesting the Dakota Access Pipeline


Her name is no longer Floris White Bull; her name is Number 151. When most people were sending their children back to school, she was fighting against the Dakota Access Pipeline, the oil pipeline currently being built through tribal lands in South Dakota.


When most people were trick-or-treating on Halloween, she was wrestling with PTSD from a brutal arrest for "trespassing" on her Native land. When most people are tucking their little ones into bed, she is camping out on the banks of the Missouri River, determined to keep the pipeline from threatening the water supply of countless communities. “I’m their voice, I’m their protector, so I have no choice. I just want clean water and a future for our kids,” she says.
