My heart aches for all affected by the unimaginable tragedy in Christchurch, New Zealand — those at the mosque, peaceful, prayerful Muslims around the globe, and greater humanity. We will continue to stand together with our Muslim brothers and sisters to fight the root evils of bigotry, white supremacy, discrimination, hatred, violence and Islamophobia, as well as senseless mass shootings that cut short innocent lives and destroy the fabric of families, faith communities, local and global societies. May the memory of those killed in this horrific massacre be a blessing. May Muslim worshippers and children, in particular, feel safe. And may peace prevail on earth.
