Luis is my hero. I don’t believe I have ever been so aligned in a worldview with anyone, aside from my mother. A passionate organic farmer, he works his small plot of land by hand without any mechanized machinery, pesticides, insecticides, herbicides, potential toxin — harvesting the most flavorful, quality, fresh, seasonal fruits, vegetables and grains Puerto Rico has to offer. He has created his own seed bank, makes organic fertilizers from scratch, uses no plastic whatsoever, employs crop rotation, tests all produce to monitor nutrient content and soil health, promotes regenerative small scale agriculture, reads voraciously, eats a balanced plant-based diet, educates people on the benefits of organics, holistic wellness, conscious living — and lives happily with his incredible aligned wife and beloved visiting children and grandchildren on a tranquil piece of land in Camuy, Puerto Rico.
